ARTIST OVERALL RATINGS
DESCRIPTION
Angelis were created by Simon Cowell. After his success of Il Divo became apparent, he assumed that a super group of mini humans would sell by the bucket load, and they did. After their Christmas push and putting a lot of cash in Cowell's pocket, he sacked them all. This group consisted of six young individuals aged between 11 and 14, and they sounded lovely. Production was sugary, as with any other Cowell product, but they had nice voices and boasted of some soothing renditions of different pop songs, most notably Sarah McLachlan's 'Angel' and Enya's 'May It Be'. There was a rumour that Cowell was to re-launch this band with new kids in 2008 but it did not occur - not in the UK anyway. France seemed to have created a replica of Angelis; a group called Vox Angeli who released two albums in 2008. Even their album artwork is the same. The Angelis copy cats are nowhere near as polished as the original group; otherwise they would have made a fine alternative.
