DESCRIPTION
The Opera Babes, an operatic duo consisting of a soprano and mezzo-soprano, came to prominence in a similar fashion to Luciano Pavarotti when their rendition of 'Un Bel Di Vedremo' (they named it 'One Fine Day') was used for ITV's coverage of the 2002 World Cup. After selling over 1 million copies of their debut album with Sony BMG, OperaBabes walked away from their record deal to concentrate on live performances.  They released their second album on an independent label four years later and are releasing their third, Silent Noon, in 2012 with Warner Classics. For the time their debut Beyond Imagination was released (2001) it was an incredibly gutsy and original album. It's full of arias (as their name would suggest) and a few classical pieces, but they all have such unique arrangements and twists that it still stands as a fresh and vibrant album today. Bands like Il Divo and especially Amici Forever were clearly inspired by them. Both of the women are talented singers and sing in full operatic vocals, whilst they bask in rich and textured pop arrangements. Opera Babes represent the best of both worlds.

The Operababes have fabulous voices, I love all three of their albums. They are amazing and have great vocal quality.
