DESCRIPTION
Mariette Davina is classical crossover's answer to Kate Bush. An independent artist that deserves worldwide recognition, Davina trained in various performing art schools in South Africa and found moderate success there before moving back to the UK. Davina is a master vocalist and pianist but also an enthusiastic and talented songwriter. Like Kate Bush and Tori Amos, Davina may not be to everyone's taste, but her ability is undeniable. Her voice flows out effortlessly and with an endearing quirkiness. Her music is varied and draws from many influences but there's an overall impression of folk combined with her soaring classical soprano. Her creativity will impress fans of Emma Shapplin and Sarah Brightman, but vocally, Davina stands alone in this genre. Her debut is out now on Amazon and iTunes.
