DESCRIPTION
Becky Jane Taylor (previously Becky Taylor) began as a child star in the West End starring in notable musicals such as Les Miserables. She released her first album of show tunes at the tender age of thirteen in 2001 and her first crossover album in 2005. Despite the "child star" madness caused by Charlotte Church at the start of the 2000s, Taylor remained outside the radar in the UK, but achieved success in the Far East, topping the charts in Japan. Taylor is a soprano, but uses her rich deeper range for her album By Your Side, which consists of many original tracks and obscure pop and classical covers. Although from the same time frame as Church, Taylor had a different, sultry sound and was more experimental with her material. More than ten years on, Taylor has finished her studies and has re-started her singing career with a beautifully developed and healthy voice. It has a smoother quality and packs more power. The public can expect to hear her again in 2012.
