DESCRIPTION
Will Martin
is yet another Kiwi in the classical crossover market. His baby face is misleading, as he boasts of a rich tenor voice (very similar to Aled Jones). Universal gave him a five album deal, but he parted way with them soon after his debut.  Universal couldn't be blamed for believing that he may have been the next Katherine Jenkins success story; he has the perfect image for the market, his voice is as soothing as the likes of Josh Groban, and his debut album was actually a good effort. Although his major album is typical of any crossover album, it does hold some surprises and his covers of 'Into the West' from The Lord of the Rings and 'Going Home', the popular adaptation of The New World Symphony are really special.  He released an album (Inspiration) as an indepedent artist and he is still performing throughout New Zealand.  To avoid confusion between classical crossover and opera, Martin now calls himself a crossover tenor.

'Illuminations' , Will's latest album has gone to the pop side a bit too much for my taste.
