ARTIST OVERALL RATINGS
Noah Stewart comes from an unusual background for a classical crossover artist, born and raised in New York, Stewart has featured on Sesame Street and sung backup vocals for Mariah Carey and Coolio before he was awarded a full scholarship to Julliard School. After featuring in several operas Stewart was signed to Decca. It's very easy to hear - and see - why. With a voice of pure gold and exceedingly good looks, Stewart is likely to be around for a while. His debut album, Noah, went straight to the top of the classical charts in the UK (the first black artist to ever do so) and placed high in the pop chart at number fourteen. The usual suspects turn up on the album: 'Hallelujah', 'Shenandoah', Bach's 'Ave Maria', 'I'll Walk With God' and 'Amazing Grace'. His voice has a refreshingly rich texture that brings a new flavour to these standards which is exquisitely effective in 'Deep River'. Whilst he merely repeats what countless tenors have done before him, he is the real deal. His voice and charm should see him through the murky waters of Decca's limited songbook.
