DESCRIPTION
The Pavão Quartet are a diverse string ensemble that will convert just about anything to their warm and gliding string arrangements. They may be known to seasoned crossover fans as the girls have been known to work with some big names, such as Aled Jones and Hayley Westenra but the group are more than sustainable on their own, having released four albums, including crossover material. Like other classical quartets, they love the usual quartet repertoire, but they have no qualms with adapting popular pieces either; their latest album features 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow', 'When You Wish Upon A Star' and the more well-loved classics, such as Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata' and Grieg's 'Nocturne'. Their arrangements are always light, cohesive and natural, allowing the beauty of the melodies to shine through. They balance out their repertoire well, and unlike quartets such as Bond and Escala, these ladies will be appreciated by string lovers who actually want to hear the strings.
