DESCRIPTION

Italian Alessandro Safina caught international attention when he featured on the Moulin Rouge soundtrack with Ewan McGregor singing 'Your Song'. He went on to officially record the song with Elton John in 2002 for Sport Relief, scoring a number four hit in the UK charts. He has also recorded with Rod Stewart, Sumi Jo and Miriam Stockley to name a few. Sarah Brightman, like Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban before him, took a shine to Safina and recorded with him on her Symphony album, and further extended her hand by bringing him along with her to tour the album. Though there are a few standards thrown into his repertoire, they are mostly unfamiliar songs, sung in his native Italian. Safina possesses a stronger voice than the majority of tenors in the genre as he began with a passion only for opera before embracing pop music in the late nineties.
