DESCRIPTION
Rosanna Riverso is a versatile artist who has full control of her music and direction.  Riverso comes rather close to doing everything herself; writing and selecting her own material, producing it, and then releasing it on her own record label.  Despite the lack of help, Riverso has not resigned herself to obscurity; she has performed and recorded with major recording artists such as Mark Masri, Il Volo and The Priests.  She also won the Best Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2011 Hamilton Music Awards.  Her first full length album is, at a glance, just another collection of sacred songs, consisting of 'Panis Angelicus', 'Ave Maria', 'Pie Jesu' and Cohen's 'Hallelujah' but it is unique nonetheless.  Nine of the tracks from Let There Be Peace are her original songs and the arrangements give each of the covers a different sound.  Fans of the lighter classical sound will love Riverso's folksy take of the classics.  Her voice is very adaptable; pure for her classical pieces, gentle and expressive for her contemporary and a sultry tone for her more jazzy numbers; fans of Phillippa Lusty who shares all these traits are likely to be drawn to Riverso.

The song 'Fly On' was written by Rosanna in 2008. She recorded it about two years later. It was written in memory of a 15 year old family friend who passed just before Christmas. It is a beautiful tribute to him. On the first day of school, after Christmas holiday, the children of Sandy Hook school are being transported to another school. I remember a photograph, in the newspaper, that shows the bus passing life size artwork featuring 26 angels. I doubt Rosanna could ever have imagined how the words of her song would convey the emotion of that tragic event! Thank you for sharing this with me, Rosanna.

I love Rosanna's voice. I was very surprised to get an e-mail from a friend telling me that Rosanna's song and video on YouTube , 'Fly On' have been dedicated to the victims of the, DEC. 14, 2012, Sandy Hook elementary school in Newton, CN USA. The e-mails mentions that 6 adults and 20 children are now angels. It is a beautiful presentation.
I looked on YouTube and see the video was made in 2011. Has anyone heard about this?
My next step is Rosanna's webpage. I will post this on Forum if I read anything about it on her site.

Your photo on the home page is absolutely beautiful. The Christmas album is fantastic. I'm so happy you have duets with Mark. I love his voice and your voices sound so great together. You have given us a wonderful Christmas album!
